With years of experience growing a handful of brands in the E-Commerce space, we ran into the same problems that thousands of brands deal with on a daily basis. It’s hard enough to create a winning product and grow a successful brand, but it’s even more difficult to learn how to build a team.
As our brand's sales grew from scaling our marketing efforts, we found that there was just not enough time in the day for us to keep up with all of the work that needed to be done. So we did what most brands do… and started trying to hire. We tried to build our team locally, but it was quickly becoming costly and difficult to remain profitable during our startup phase… We tried to allocate time to interviewing as many people as we could, but we just didn’t have the time to do so… And building out training material to get this new team member up to speed was just another project on the list of to do’s… It was unsustainable, and we were struggling…
During this time, our mutual passion for travel led us on a trip to the Philippines, where we fell in love with the country, culture, and most importantly, the people. Everyone we met had a deep understanding of empathy, a strong connection to helping others, and a drive to do great work. The lightbulb above our heads went off! We saw an opportunity to grow our team with highly-skilled, motivated team members from the Philippines who brought years of experience in the E-Commerce space, at a fraction of the cost of the same team members in the United States.
So that’s exactly what we did.. We quickly hired 13 team members to manage our customer support, graphic design, operations, and other marketing functions, and were off to the races! And just like that, our life got easier. Without the need to handle day to day tasks anymore, we could now spend our time doing what most Founders dream of, ideating ways to continue to grow the business further.
After successfully building out our own team, word spread rapidly on what we had accomplished, capturing attention from local E-Commerce brands in the Los Angeles area who also needed assistance when it came to growing their teams. As a result of these humble beginnings, TalentPop was born. We worked tirelessly to perfect the process of bringing on highly skilled experts from around the world, quickly training them on E-Commerce business processes, and effectively managing them to ensure that they’re feeling empowered and doing great work for years to come. Through trial and error, sleepless nights, and invaluable feedback from our first clients, the challenges we faced became more manageable and the needs of the market became more clear, allowing us to find our footing and establish a solid product-market fit.

Ashkan loves all things e-commerce and enjoys nothing more than getting caffeinated AF and chatting it up with other founders/marketing professionals in the E-Commerce space. When he’s not plotting his next moves for TalentPop, Ashkan can be found spending time outdoors, working out, or playing pickle ball all summer long, and hitting the mountain for skiing all winter long. He’s also a new father of his little princess Ava who was born in December of 2022!
Arman Taheri is a culture-first leader who is deeply invested in developing his talent and ensuring that his team members are in the best position to succeed. As the Co-Founder and Director of Customer Success at TalentPop, Arman brings a wealth of experience from his e-commerce background. He has worked with leading e-commerce brands, providing them with consultation on marketing and customer experience. He also co-founded an 8-figure DTC brand in 2020, demonstrating his keen entrepreneurial spirit. Cecilia, the Director of Operations at TalentPop, brings nearly a decade of experience working with small businesses. As one of the first employees brought on to the team after the co-founders, she has played an instrumental role in shaping the company's recruitment operations. As Director of Operations, Cecilia oversees the creation of automations and business processes, providing a unique perspective on improving operations and driving sustainable growth. Her technical background in complex systems and processes, gained through her Civil Engineering studies, allows her to identify opportunities for optimization and innovation. Beyond work, Cecilia is an adventure seeker and avid traveler. She has visited over 50 countries and enjoys spending her time snowboarding, exploring the outdoors and meeting new people. Her ability to connect with people makes her a valuable asset in building relationships with clients and colleagues alike. Born and raised in New Jersey, Azita is a licensed Esthetician, former Business Administration student from Monmouth University, and the Director of Recruitment at TalentPop. With an unwavering dedication to her team’s growth and success, Azita provides them with the tools they need to thrive. Her boundless curiosity, love for creative solutions, and passion for automation drive her every day — with a bit of caffein of course. With an educational background including a BA in Psychology from Chapman University as well as a Master’s in Management & Leadership from Pepperdine University, she lives and loves her role as Recruitment Operations Manager at TalentPop. During her time as an undergraduate, she discovered a passion for leadership through involvement in various roles within her sorority chapter Kappa Kappa Gamma. Boasting over ten years of working experience in various fields such as food & beverage, retail, business services, and now e-commerce, she has experienced it all when it comes to the world of customer service. As a perfectionist, Allison aims to ensure that TalentPop’s recruitment team is continually supporting each client’s unique needs through personalization, creativity, critical thinking, and a high standard of excellence. An avid problem-solver, she also supports TalentPop by identifying opportunities for improvement as well as through the ongoing coaching, training, and development of her team.
Tanner is a Senior Customer Success Manager who truly leads with her heart and empathy. She believes in the power of leading by example and connecting on a deep level to foster relationships. Tanner has a BA in Communication Studies and a background in team management, operations and training. She also is a yogi who loves to spend time on her mat to feel centered and grounded. Practicing yoga helps Tanner show up with a positive mindset everyday, ready to tackle any project at hand. Outside of work Tanner loves spending time staying active and outdoors. She resides in Southern California with her family and two dogs.

As a 500hr Registered Yoga Teacher, with a BS in Human Services from Cal State University Fullerton, Michelle understands the importance of leading by example and building a strong network. She's guided hundreds of people to connect deeper to their breath, breakthrough resistance, and build strength and flexibility. Now she uses those skills to empower her team and help clients achieve their goals. Outside of work, you can either find Michelle playing cozy games like Animal Crossing... or, you can't find her, because she's unplugged out in nature somewhere.
